Free Tuition for Students in the Continuing Care Assistant & CCA – PE Programs

In response to the growing demand for personal caregivers, the Government of Nova Scotia has announced that those interested in becoming Continuing Care Assistants can now have their tuition costs paid in full. Other eligible expenses that may be covered include transportation, childcare, and living allowances.

The Continuing Care Assistant Program is now available in two formats – CCA PE (Work and Learn) and CCA.

Continuing Care Assistant (CCA)

  • 44-week program
  • On-Campus learning at the Halifax campus
  • 11-week internship

Continuing Care Assistant – Progressive Education (CCA – PE)

  • 37-week program
  • Online learning three days a week and paid work two days a week
  • ‘Work and Learn’ – get paid to work as a ‘CCA in training’ at a nursing home with placement opportunities throughout Nova Scotia including the Halifax region, Northern region, Annapolis Valley region, South Shore region
