Free Tuition for Students in the Continuing Care Assistant & CCA – PE Programs

Other eligible expenses that may be covered include transportation, childcare, and living allowances.

The Continuing Care Assistant Program is now available in two formats – CCA PE (Work and Learn) and CCA.
Continuing Care Assistant (CCA)
- 44-week program
- On-Campus learning at the Halifax campus
- 11-week internship
Continuing Care Assistant – Progressive Education (CCA – PE)
- 37-week program
- Online learning three days a week and paid work two days a week
- ‘Work and Learn’ – get paid to work as a ‘CCA in training’ at a nursing home with placement opportunities throughout Nova Scotia including the Halifax region, Northern region, Annapolis Valley region, South Shore region

IN-DEMAND CAREER
As the baby boomer population ages, Continuing Care Assistants will be needed to help care for an increasing number of older patients in nursing and residential care facilities. Between 2022-2031, approximately 191,000 new continuing care assistance job openings are expected to be available to skilled workers in Canada**.

Eastern’s Continuing Care Assistant (CCA) program includes an 11-week internship. The Continuing Care Assistant – Progressive Education (CCA – PE) program has a ‘Work and Learn’ model which means students can attend classes virtually three days a week and work two days a week in the continuing care sector.
